CELPIP to CLB
CELPIP-General levels line up with the Canadian Language Benchmarks one to one: a CELPIP 7 is CLB 7, a CELPIP 9 is CLB 9, and so on up to 12. IRCC groups everything from CLB 10 upward together, because CLB 10 already earns the maximum CRS points.

CRS points for your first official language
Points are awarded for each of the four abilities separately.

Language also feeds the skill transferability section. With CLB 7 or higher in all four abilities, language combines with your education or foreign work experience for up to 25 points each; with CLB 9 or higher in all four, up to 50 each. Frequently asked questions
Is a CELPIP level the same as a CLB level?
Yes. For Express Entry, IRCC treats CELPIP-General levels 4 to 10 as the same CLB level, so CELPIP 9 in Reading is CLB 9 in Reading. CELPIP level 2 corresponds to CLB 1 or 2.
How many CRS points can I get for English?
As your first official language, English is worth up to 34 points per ability without a spouse or partner (136 in total), or up to 32 per ability with one (128 in total). CLB 10 or higher earns the maximum.
Can I convert the number of correct answers into a CELPIP level?
Not reliably. Paragon Testing does not publish a raw-score conversion table; it only states that each correct answer contributes proportionately to the score. Charts that claim an exact conversion are unofficial estimates.
How long are my test results valid for Express Entry?
IRCC requires results to be less than 2 years old both when you complete your Express Entry profile and when you submit your application for permanent residence.
